Choose one of the following topics:

1.       Immigration

2.       Environment

3.       Homeland Security and terrorism

Assignment:  3 pages…full!

Page 1:  Explain topic’s significance as domestic issue in the United States.  Give 3 historical references or examples to aid in the explanation.  Be sure to date, explain, and describe the impact of the historical example.

Page 2:  Give 3 contemporary examples of the issue.  Describe attempts to resolve the issue and determine success or failure of the attempts.  What are potential solutions or problems?

Page 3:  Create or find a contemporary political cartoon that illustrates your topic.  Include a copy of the cartoon and an analysis of the cartoon/author’s message.
